Yamba Hearts FC

Yamba Hearts FC is a women’s football team that was founded in the fall of 2023 in collaboration with DP Sports Management through fundraising efforts, collecting equipment and clothing from Sweden, including match kits from several sports clubs.

Despite the enormous interest in football in Uganda, there are very few clubs for women’s football—something we want to change. When we started Yamba Hearts FC, there were no official women’s football teams in the Mpigi region, which has a population of approximately 300,000 people.

By organizing recurring tournaments and providing equipment and support for players in our team and others, we hope to increase participation and spark a strong passion for women’s football in the region. Yamba Hearts FC also plays a crucial role in creating a safe community and social support network for our primary target group—young women.
